English Musical 2017
We take pleasure in announcing the performance of Flowers for Algernon, our biennial English musical, in July 2017 at the Shatin Pui Ying College Auditorium.
This musical production is adapted from Flowers for Algernon written by Daniel Keyes. It is a collaborative effort of 200 students and teachers which showcases an abundance of music, dances, sets and props. The script is edited by students, and the songs are all original works that are composed by students, alumni and teachers. The school orchestra will perform live. Costumes-making comes under the able craft of parents. After months of hard work, it is now show time.
自1999-2001年起，沙田培英中學每兩年均公演一齣英語音樂劇，至今已公演八齣，並將於今年七月四日至六日(星期二至四) 假沙田培英中學禮堂公演第九齣英語音樂劇 Flowers for Algernon，藉此推廣藝術教育，優化英語學習環境。
該劇劇本改篇自Daniel Keyes的〈Flowers for Algernon〉，由師生共同策劃，參與台前幕後工作人員超過二百人，並有以下特色﹕
- 劇本由學生親自執筆改編
- 所有歌曲全是原創，由學生，老師及舊生編寫
- 由同學組成的管弦樂隊伴奏
- 舞台設計、佈景製作均由師生合力製作
- 戲服由家長縫製
- 備有中文字幕，演出時間約為兩小時 (另設中場休息)
- 將沙田培英中學禮堂化身成為大劇院 (見圖)
